Split a PDF into separate files

Splitting a long PDF usually means one of two annoyances: a tool that only splits every page individually, or a browser that blocks the flood of downloads that follows. This tool solves both.

Choose how you want the document divided — every page separately, fixed chunks of N pages, or your own list of ranges — and everything comes back as a single ZIP archive instead of dozens of separate downloads.

Runs in your browser — your files are never uploaded.

How to Split PDF

  1. Select the PDF you want to split.
  2. Pick a split mode: every page as its own file, a fixed number of pages per file, or custom ranges like "1-3, 4-8".
  3. Press "Split pages". If the split produces more than one file, you get one ZIP containing all of them.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I get a ZIP file instead of separate PDFs?

Browsers block or prompt when a page tries to start many downloads at once, so a 40-page split would fail partway through. Packing the output into one ZIP makes the download reliable.

How do I write custom ranges?

Use comma-separated ranges, for example "1-3, 7, 10-12". Each range becomes one output PDF, so that example produces three files.

What if I only want one section of the document?

Use a single range like "5-9". Because that produces just one file, it downloads as a plain PDF rather than a ZIP.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied into the new documents without being re-encoded, so text, images, and fonts are identical to the original.
