Edit PDF metadata

Every PDF carries metadata that most people never see: a title, an author, a subject, and keywords. These fields decide what appears in your PDF reader's title bar and how document management systems index the file.

They are also frequently wrong — filled in with the name of whoever originally made the template, or the software that produced it. This tool lets you set them properly.

Frequently asked questions

Does this change the visible content?

No. Metadata sits alongside the page content; the pages themselves are untouched.

Why does the wrong title show in my PDF reader?

Readers prefer the internal title field over the filename. Setting it here fixes the display everywhere.

How should keywords be written?

Separate them with commas. They are stored as a keyword list for search and indexing systems.

Can I clear a field instead of changing it?

Yes. Leave it empty and it is saved as blank.
